Miu and me at the Arclight in Hollywood with our AVATAR glasses on. I figured they were going to be standard polarized lenses, but they appeared to have a red/green tint. And the lenses were coated glass - maybe some kind of hybid of polarization and red/green. AVATAR had good 3D, but I'm still waiting for some kind of "no glasses" technology.
Through this black gate, in the building at the end of the alley is where notorious poverty row filmmaker Edward D. Wood Jr. made his most famous "bad" film: PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE. You may know about him from the Johnny Depp film, but the real guy seems to have been a bit more unique than the film about him alleges. Although ridiculed as the "worst director of all time" Ed Wood wasn't even close to earning that title. None of his films are boring. Almost all of them are fascinatingly odd and personal, and he certainly deserves credit for creating finished films that have an immediately recognizable style, and genuine strangeness. Not far from this grim-looking portal are the somewhat more famous Paramount Pictures gates.
